The New Folkestone Society (NFS) in collaboration with the Wiltshire and Swindon Archives (WSA) recently received funding from the National Manuscript Conservation Trust (NMCT) to repair and conserve the 1698 ‘Book of Mapps of The Estate of the Hon[oura]ble Jacob Desbovery Esq Lying In the East Part of Kent’ held in the WSA Radnor Collection.

The conservator Clare Goulbourn from Lux & Livre worked on the manuscript on site in the WSA Archive Conservation Laboratory in Chippenham. A team from the New Folkestone Society was privileged to observe Clare in action on this fragile document.
